Advent: His Coming

O Lord, we have wondered at your coming to the world. 

We have pondered more often upon you choosing to leave the joys of heaven to a manger. 

Yet, let us remember because of your great love you came to your people who had walked in darkness

To be the  Great Light, the Hope among nations, the living Word.

We have walked in darkness and could not keep your perfect law.

Sinners, estranged from the Almighty God.

Toiled have we to strive to live for thee O God in the matters and ways of our own hearts.

Yet, how could we? The ones which you have created could never bridge this gap of our own sinfulness.

So we come O Lord amazed at you coming to us.

Becoming like us, living a sinless life. 

Let us find comfort in your coming to us.

You out Light and Our Hope, O great Christ. 

Amen.

  But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.      Galatians 4:4-5 ESV 

 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭CSB‬‬
