The Sanctity of Rest
The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need. He lets me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:1-3
The Sanctity of Rest
Here we are in the between ...
The not yets and waitings....
From tears shed to angered voices...
From loss to loss we are here in this moment of finding rest.
Rest to refresh, the cool soothing stream.
A way to rest to feel relief in the hardness of life.
To stop, to sit, to soak in moments from end to end.
Resting is growing
By growing you are learning.
Learning that rest is okay.
Rest is not weakness.
Learn to know rest is okay.
You do not need to always stive for the things.
But to sit and to rest in the things and to stop and to listen.
To sit and to listen to the words which guide and lead
To the words that give life and refreshment.
