To Obey and To Seek

I never thought I would be doing what I am doing now. However, I am here studying to get a master's degree in biblical counseling. The funny thing is how this was my back up undergraduate degree. I never thought my backup plan would be a part of the plans God had written for me.

I never thought God would call me to do counseling ministry, and yet He did. However, in my stubbornness and pride, I did not obey the call of God on my life entirely. I found out quickly I could not handle both a full-time job and online school.  This was my desert season with Jesus. It was challenging and difficult to see who I was and how Jesus could turn this dry season into anything useful.

In the long run, I struggled with guilt for a while, even after I asked Jesus for forgiveness for my disobedience. Jesus restored me and taught me to love Him fully, to lean in Him, and to trust Him again. I learned to obey again. However, in the last few weeks, as I have attended church, prayed, and read my bible, God simply reminded me it is not enough to just obey Him and the call on our lives but to seek Him with our whole heart and to live out the gospel.

Now I will be honest, I have not been the best with truly and fully living out the gospel. It is something I want to be better at and to grow in. To live out an intentional gospel of Jesus Christ. Will it look pretty? No, because of the fight of my flesh against the Holy Spirit. The key is to simply seek the face of Jesus Christ every day.

" But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." - Matthew 6:33 KJV

"Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?... and seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you." - Luke 12:24,29-31 KJV

To add this, a friend of mine said this :[Seeking is] looking,[being] open, and willing to do what God has.
