Why Am I Overwhelmed?
God has blessed with a great Godly friend who I can talk to about anything and everything. When I am overwhelmed, this friend will constantly point me back to Jesus or even Jesus will use them to draw me to back to himself. I say all of this because they listen to all my problems and is patient with me. I try to do the same for them. This past week for both of us has been an overwhelming one.
I was getting stressed and they were getting overwhelmed. I was stressed over family situations concerning those associated with my mom. You could say life was hitting me hard earlier this week. I texted this friend of mine, telling them about what was going on. They were honestly trying to help me and I was being a butt in a lot of ways until I let it all out. Jesus used them to encourage me but also to point me back to Christ The rest of our conversation brought me to realize a few points about being overwhelmed.
1. Satan will attack you at all your weak points to distract you from Jesus. You will become overwhelmed.
2. As a follower of Christ, I need to remember I can bring anything to Jesus in prayer.
3. Do not let your problems get in the way of following Jesus (This is easier said than done.)
4. Meditate on scripture.
5. Surround yourself with Godly friends.
These are just a few key points. Run to Christ when you are overwhelmed. He will never let you down. Yes, there are times where we will experience more than we can handle. In the end we have to remember it is all being used to grow us and to shape us to be more like him. As another friend has said to me let God chisel you.
Read and meditate on Psalm 6.
