In My Weakness Jesus

I never like to admit that I'm weak or that I honestly need help. Those are two things I am right now. I am spiritually weak and physically weak.  It's difficult to say that it's the truth but I would rather be real than fake and also transparent to those who read my blog.  I could honestly say this is not how I saw senior year to go but it has. As I sit here thinking, I reflect and meditate on Psalm 13:

   “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed over him," lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken. But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.”

I am like David when he says 'how long Lord?' How long? I find this a common statement among believers, how long? How long will I have to be in the hospital? How long will it take for the gospel message to be heard by my family? How long will this trial or storm be?  We focus too much on these questions. Instead of questioning God's sovereignty, we need to be praying and seeking him even in our struggle. I'm learning that.  I don't think it's enough to cry out to God in my struggles but cry out to him every single day whether we are riding the struggle bus or we're not. We need to be dependent upon him every day.  

Here are a few song lyrics that come to mind when I think of how strong God is. 

" You are my strength when I'm weak."

"In my weakness you are strong, in my trial you have overcome."

So remember these few things
1. God is sovereign and is stronger than all of  our weaknesses.
2.  We need to cry out to God because intercession is made for us through Christ.
3. Trust in the Lord and he will carry you through every trial because of his steadfast love.
