Poems And Prayers
If you read my last social media post on any of my pages, I announced more or less that I would be taking a different route so to say in my writing that expresses my art form more so than blog posts. I am resurrecting this blog into something new and something different by combining my writing loves. Poetry and prayers.
Poetry is my first love of writing. When I found poetry, I found my voice. I found my form of expression as a shy, nerdy, awkward middle school girl. And outside of this blog, I found my other form of expression in physically writing my prayers to the Lord. It has helped me keep a record of seeing God's past faithfulness in my life. And after a conversation with my dear friend, who pointed me to a whole new form of writing, I am deciding to dive into writing liturgies.
I will admit it is the type of writing I never thought would be an option for me as a writer. Or as a path I could never truly explore. I am still learning how to write liturgies and have much to go. So to initiate my writing of liturgies, here is the first one I wrote entitled as A Liturgy For This Season.
My Good and Great Father
You are worthy of praise for your constant faithfulness.
I praise you for all your ways, for they are always for my good.
I praise you for the path that you have led me on.
I praise you for answering my petitions
Thank you for the unknowns lying ahead, for you have a perfect plan.
Let me be patient in this season of unknowns.
For you know, you know the end from the beginning.
Help us to trust in you when we are uncertain of the way ahead.
Draw me closer to your heart, o Lord.
Our Shepherd, our Guide, our Hope.
You will lead me as you have led me by your righteous right hand,
Teach me to trust you more as I face many questions and question marks
Remind me there are no accidents but a purposeful, good sovereign plan brought about by You, our Great Heavenly Father, who is the Author.
You hold the pen to our lives, only leading us into your goodness for our lives because of your love for us.
Let us be patient in waiting for your answers.
Let us listen to your words and earnestly take hold of your promises.
Let us trust you more with the answers which come from you.
You are always only good.
Amen
Hab 2:1–4.
