Control

I do not like being a failure. And yet I have failed time and time again. I like having things in control and being in control of the next steps of my life.  This semester has taught me that God is in control. I grew up hearing this statement and have heard it all throughout my college career as trials have come. I have also said this to other people. We hear it and we say it more times than none. I was getting frustrated with people saying it to me but I tried to be as polite and patient as possible. Here are a few examples of the what's and how's

A.  Family Situation
Friend's Response: Sometimes God gives us situations outside of our control to show us He still is in control.

B. Future Plans/ Grad school
Friend's Response: Don't control what God is already in control of.

C.  Health Issues
Friend's Response: Praise God for his goodness.

D. Friendship/ Relationship Issues
God is in control.

These are just a few that hit the surface.  I'm a perfectionist and I strongly dislike messing up and being a failure. I try to control things that are not in my control. I'll be honest it's a struggle for me to let God have control over every area of my life and to trust him completely. Over the course of this semester, I have learned  that God is sovereign. God is in control. It is easier said than believed because of the crazy world we live in.  I cannot control what happens to me in this life but I can trust my Heavenly Father who is always continually good.
