Disabilities and Homework
My title may be off a little bit and too far ended for some people. I am taking a class this semester called Characteristics of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and though this is a class where I am learning about individuals with intellectual exceptionalities, I have learned so much spiritually. In my class, I am required to read a book called Same Lake, Different Boat by Stephanie O. Hubach. I was reading chapter 6 which describes the struggles that families face when a individual is impacted with a disability. A section within the chapter is entitled Concerns for the Future. When I read that title, I felt as the author had read my mind because the first half of the paragraph discusses trusting God's will while having faith in what he will and can do. This word was what I needed for my life at this time.
The Lord knows our thoughts, our needs, and everything about us. When the Lord speaks, it can be through His Word the or through any source of his choosing to make us aware of our need for him.
“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Matthew 6:26 ESV
